From the Dutch Quarter to Alexanderplatz - A student's view and perspective on Berlin & Potsdam (Part 1)

Image
Potsdam- If you're looking for a break away from the city of Berlin than Potsdam is an ideal destination to visit. Potsdam's about a 45 minutes drive away from Berlin or you can catch the train which takes around 30 minutes.  Glienicke Bridge- One of the most iconic attractions in Potsdam is the Glienicke Bridge which connects the city of Berlin to Potsdam. The bridge is a symbol of the divide between East & West Germany because during the Cold War it was used to exchange captured spies between both sides which gave it the nickname of the Bridge of Spies. If you're travelling to Potsdam by road then I would highly suggest stopping off at the bridge because it's a decent photo opportunity as the views are remarkable. For some reason it reminded me of the scenery in Scandinavia with the tree's and the open area surrounding the bridge.  Here's a couple of photo's to give you an idea of  Glienicke Bridge and the scenery: Sans...

Berlin- Looking for some inspiration on where to travel in Europe for a getaway? Then this blog will help give you some inspiration on the  the culture hub which is Berlin and the city of Potsdam. In this post I will be discussing the destination of Berlin which is rich with history, art, culture & fashion. Further on my second part of the blog I will discuss the city of Potsdam and the various attractions to visit in the city of history. Eastside Gallery-   Mühlenstraße 3-100, 10243 Berlin, Germany Berlin is known for its street art and the Eastside Gallery is one of the many examples of the street art which is available in the city. The Eastside gallery is situated on the remains of the Berlin Wall and lasts 1km.  I would highly recommend visiting the Eastside Gallery especially if you're interested in street art and if you're also interested in seeing the remains of the Berlin Wall. Luckily for me the Eastside Gallery was a two minute walk from ...

Places to shop: New York Soho

Image
So guy's it's been a while since I've last posted due to being away although as some may know that in the two weeks ago I visited New York where I visited many areas such as Central Park and Brooklyn although one of my favourites was SoHo which is located in the South Manhattan and is renowned for it's shopping due to there been many boutiques, bars, restaurants and due to it been a lot quieter and fewer people around whereas if you go to attractions such as Times Square and 5th Avenue the prices tend to be expensive as they're in tourist areas and tourists are the ones who have the money, SoHo is also very relaxed and you can take your time whereas in the main areas you can often feel rushed. Stone Island New York, SoHo 41 Greene St, New York, NY 10013, USA The first store I visited whilst in SoHo was one of my favorite brands Stone Island which in North America only has two flagship stores with the other one located in Los Angeles. The store it...

CP Company X Adidas - What we already know

Image
So on twitter the other day I noticed that  @TheYeezyMafia had posted leaked photos of an Adidas C.P Company collaberation which is scheduled for August 2018 with the images of a pictures of a red suede Adidas Kamanda with the Adidas x C.P Company tag on the tounge and the tounge bottom, personally the shoes aren't my style although I can see the appeal and the reason why they chose this shoe as one of the collaberation shoes and the reason why I think they did is because the Kamanda is a fairly new shoe as it was released back in December 2017 and it's a fairly modern shoe for Adidas and C.P Company are trying to keep themselves relevent as many people have said that the brand itself has gone 'down-hill' since they were sold to FGF Fashion back in Autumn/Winter 2011 with people weren't happy with the company placing lense's on the arm of the jackets and on hats as it defeats the point of having a watchviewer. From C.P Company's perspective I can see ...

Owen's Wardrobe - Stone Island Lamy

Image
One of my favourite brands as you may already know is Stone Island which I have a few pieces of and one of my personal favourites out of that is the Stone Island Lamy which is part of the Spring Summer 2012 collection. Even though the piece is from Spring Summer I tend to only really wear the piece during the autumn months when it's a bit miserable and windy as the piece itself is wind resistant which is ideal for casual wear although I tend to only really wear this jacket on occasions purely because it's a really thin piece and if there was a lot of wear and tear then it could potentially rip. The piece does come with the limited edition patch in a white/gold compass which shows that the garment is unique and is the first time that Stone Island has used a new material or technology on a garment which when looking at the label it says that the jacket is 'Garment Dyed' which is a standard process that Stone Island use, there is also use of a 'Inner resin co...
