Places to shop: New York Soho

So guy's it's been a while since I've last posted due to being away although as some may know that in the two weeks ago I visited New York where I visited many areas such as Central Park and Brooklyn although one of my favourites was SoHo which is located in the South Manhattan and is renowned for it's shopping due to there been many boutiques, bars, restaurants and due to it been a lot quieter and fewer people around whereas if you go to attractions such as Times Square and 5th Avenue the prices tend to be expensive as they're in tourist areas and tourists are the ones who have the money, SoHo is also very relaxed and you can take your time whereas in the main areas you can often feel rushed.

Stone Island New York, SoHo
41 Greene St, New York, NY 10013, USA

The first store I visited whilst in SoHo was one of my favorite brands Stone Island which in North America only has two flagship stores with the other one located in Los Angeles. The store itself is fairly big considering there is only one floor although the amount of stock they had in there was good with the brand's lines such as Shadow Project and my personal favourite Marina been in the store. They had the entire SS18 collection and it was a great opportunity to see some of the pieces which caught my eye whilst looking online in person. I'd reccomend visiting the store if you're in New York because it is only one of two flagship stores in North America and they will also have a decent amount of stock because it's direct from the brand although if you're visiting from outside the US then unless it's a piece you can't get anywhere else it's quite expensive especially when I was looking at pieces because with the prices they don't include tax unlike the UK where we include our V.A.T in the price and this can often add up especially if you're buying a jacket or an expensive item in New York it's 8.8% on top of what you're paying.

Here's photos of some of the stock that they have inside the store, unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the Shadow Project stuff or of all of the products although I was given two lookbooks with all the stock which they had in store.

Patagonia SoHo New York
72 Greene St, New York, NY 10012, USA

On the same Street as the Stone Island store, I had discovered Patagonia which is also a favourite brand of mine who specializes in outdoor equipment although the brand is now fairly popular all round with a wide range of people wearing it and one of the reasons why I like Patagonia is because it's easy to style and really good quality. The shop itself is fairly big with three different floors with men when you walk in, women's and kids upstairs and then outdoor accessories such as bags and hats downstairs. The range they had was fairly good with a wide range of stock and a mixture of winter wear which was going into sale and up to 50% off and then there was also summer pieces which were more thin and colorful compared to the winter wear. If you're into Patagonia and you're in the area then it's worth visiting as in the United Kingdom there is only one flagship store which is in Manchester and only opened in December 2017. Whilst in the store I did pick up one item which was an accessory which I've wanted for ages and was just a hip bag which makes an
the outfit in my opinion and is really handy for trips abroad and festivals to keep all your items in such as wallet and phone, it's also really good value for money at $29 which is around £20.

Stadium Goods - New York
47 Howard St, New York, NY 10013, USA

Stadium Goods is a store which offers rare trainers from a wide range of brands from New Balance, Adidas, and Nike, it's located on Howard Street and is also in SoHo with a store which is fairly big inside with a large number of shoes inside and is also popular due to the series on Complex Where celebrities will go shopping and Stadium Goods is one of the stores which are shown on the series with celebrities such as 21 Savage and Gucci Mane although I personally found the store expensive with Air Max 97 Silver Bullets priced at $295 where as in other stores such as Round Two they were priced at $220 which is a large difference.

The store itself is good to visit although I would personally recommend before visiting to do some research to make sure you don't get overcharged there because I found it was expensive although if you're in the area then it's always worth the visit because there is a lot of trainers on offer and it's good to see them in person and even to get pictures for Instagram etc.

Palace Skateboards
49 Howard St, New York, NY 10013, USA

Palace Skateboards is a well-known company especially in the last few years as it's popular with 'Hypebeasts' and also in the Skating scene with figures such as Blondey McCoy wearing Palace and Palace having their own skating team. The brand has had collaborations with brands such as Adidas and Reebok and until May 2017 they only had the one store which was in London and then opened the New York store in May 2017. The store is fairly large although the stock levels aren't massive due to the popularity of the brand and to really get anything decent then you would have to head down on the drop dates which they will announce a date when they're dropping so people know. The store is worth a visit as it's only one of two in the world and if you're in New York and looking at going to SoHo then this store is most definitely worth a visit.

Carhartt WIP SoHo
Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012, USA

Another one of my favourite brands is Carhartt and in SoHo, they've got a flagship store which isn't the largest store around although inside they do have a good range of stock from accessories to jackets in the Carhartt range. They had the majority of 'pants' in stock and also a lot of the brand new Spring Summer 2018 stock. The store is worth a visit although Carhartt is a bit more expensive in America compared to the United Kingdom especially with added tax because I purchased a Carhartt WIP tote bag for $41 (£29) with tax whereas in the United Kingdom you can get it for £25.

Here's a picture of the storefront and the tote bag:

Fjallraven Nolita Store
262 Mott St, New York, NY 10012, USA

One of two Fjallraven stores that I spotted whilst in SoHo was the Nolita Store which was on Mott St which was a couple of minutes from other stores such as Supreme which I did visit when I was in SoHo although I only walked past it as there was a release which was on and the queue was around the block and didn't fancy wasting some time for a small store so I decided to visit Fjallraven which is one of my favourite brands due to the quality and the colours of the jackets and bags. The store was fairly small although at the time of me visiting there was a sale on the products which was around 20% off the winter products which was a good sale although compared to what I've seen from other Fjallraven stockists in the United Kingdom and to be honest with the tax on top of the purchase there wasn't much in it although if you're visiting and want to visit then it's worth it. They had the old season stock and the brand new Spring Summer 18 stock also.

Round Two - New York SoHo
113 Stanton St, New York, NY 10002, USA

One of the reasons why I visited SoHo in the first place was because one of the stores which I've always liked due to the brands that they get in because they sell mostly streetwear brands even though I don't tend to wear much of Supreme myself or Bape I've always had an interest in the brands because of the constant collaborations that the brands do and also because of the following the brands seem to have. The SoHo store is one of three stores that Round Two have the other ones are in Virginia or Los Angeles which I had also visited when I went to Los Angeles last year. The stock that they had was really good as they seemed to have a good variety of shoes mostly Adidas or Nike although they seemed to have a mixture of hyped/popular shoes such as the various Nike Off White shoes such as the Jordan's and then they had other ones like the Yeezy's or Calabasas's. The store was split into three sections one Supreme which was sorted by colours, one Bape, and the other section was a mixture of brands and vintage pieces, for example, they had some Stone Island Shadow Project pieces in store and they also had vintage Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren or Guess Jeans. The store is definitely worth a visit whilst in New York as it's one of three stores and the stock they have in the store is really good and very well priced with Polo Bear tee's going for around $60 each which is really good value for money in my opinion.

Here are few pictures below of Round Two and the stock they had:

In the next couple of months, I will be visiting cities such as Berlin and Barcelona which I will also try and include shops to visit whilst in the area so during May I have a few more posts to carry on the series.

Until next time guys cheers!
